Before You Start on Your Mask Making Adventure

  1. Help save lives and slow the spread of COVID-19 by sharing our website with friends and family. Make sure they’re safe and you’re safe and sooner rather than later the world will be safe!

  2. Remember that masks are not a substitute for other critically important things like social distancing and washing your hands. So remember unless absolutely necessary stay home, stay safe

  3. Please donate N95 and surgical masks to hospitals,which can be done through filling our form.We are advocating for the use of homemade masks.

Which Material is the  best?

We recommend using a combination of cotton, flannel and paper towels but any mask is better than no mask. This is a shortlist of preferred materials.

Best Materials:

 i) Cotton ( Preferably Quilter Cotton)

 ii) Flannel

iii) Dish towel

iv) Spandex Cotton Blend

v) Pillowcase

vi)Linen

vii) Silk


This guide has a variety of ways to make masks.If you are making masks for the vulnerable, use options 2,3 and 4.

Option 1; Ready to go! (2 mins). This is the simplest option and requires no stitching whatsoever.

Option 2; A little more robust( 4 mins) We recommend putting a layer of flannel or cotton quilting fabric inside. Alternatively, a paper towel can be kept and replaced each time the mask is worn.

Option 2: 8 mins(For the determined to help)We recommend putting a layer of flannel or cotton quilting fabric inside. Alternatively, a paper towel can be kept and replaced each time the mask is worn.

 Option 3:Go Pro (12 Mins) We recommend putting a layer of flannel or cotton quilting fabric inside. Alternatively, a paper towel can be kept and replaced each time the mask is worn.
